Shrink photos without losing polish

Fast image compression

Choose a smart mode, preview results, and download smaller images.

Supported image formats

The compressor detects each upload's true format and routes it through Sharp with settings tuned per family — JPEG with MozJPEG, PNG with zlib, WebP where it helps, and many other inputs ship as optimized WebP for broad browser coverage.

  • JPEG / JPG

Re-encoded with MozJPEG for smaller files.

  • PNG

Zlib tuned for balance of size vs lossless fidelity.

  • WebP & AVIF

Re-compressed WebP or passed-through originals when size cannot improve.

  • GIF · TIFF · more

Often exported as optimized WebP when conversion shrinks bytes the most.

Usage guidelines

  1. 1Use originals when possible — re-encoding an already-heavy export may save less.
  2. 2For photos, JPG or WebP exports usually beat PNG on file size.
  3. 3Compare previews before sharing — extreme quality loss is intentionally avoided.
  4. 4Treat uploads as ephemeral — compression only; avoid regulated or classified data.

Compress images for faster sites and happier users

Heavy images cost bandwidth, battery, and Core Web Vitals. Scriptriz's image compressor uses Sharp on the server — similar to pipelines behind major CMS tooling — so you get side-by-side previews, exact byte totals, and a frictionless download from any device.

Use the workspace above for marketing assets, UI captures, thumbnails, or batch spot checks between design handoff and deploy. The responsive layout favors large tap targets so mobile creators can pinch-zoom previews without leaving the flow.

When you outgrow manual QA, complement this interface with scripted automation (API access is part of Scriptriz's broader roadmap) while keeping this page as the audited, approachable entry point your team trusts.

Frequently asked questions

Is Scriptriz Image Compressor free to use?

You can compress images without an account. Rate limits depend on hosting and abuse protection.

Do you store my uploads?

Files are sent only to compress and return a result — do not rely on this page for HIPAA or similarly regulated content.

Why did my file barely shrink?

If encoding cannot beat your original byte size without hurting quality, the API may return the original bytes unchanged.

What happens to animated GIFs?

Many GIF pipelines decode to WebP output; animation may flatten to an optimized frame. Dedicated GIF tooling may follow separately.
